The pioneer deanery chairman of the Catholic Laity Council of Nigerian (CLCN) in the then Zaria deanery, Mr. C.B.Y Gishiri on Sunday, February 10 launched 2 books namely, “Pieces of Advice and Suggestions for the avoidance of corruption in Nigeria” and “The need for love and Togetherness”.
Addressing parishioners at the launching held at Sacred Heart parish, Wusasa, the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Cletus Dauya, commended the author for his commitment and dedication in bringing out the books despite his age and urged the parishioners to support him.
“Please let us all support Elder Gishiri for bringing out these books despite his age. Whether you are reading these books, or not come out and take a copy of each of the books. He need to be encouraged and I sincerely admire his courage,” he said.
Responding, Mr. Gishiri thanked the priest and the parishioners for their support and prayed God to reward them abundantly “You have indeed encourage me with your support” he said.
C.B.Y Gishiri holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical Power Transmission from Kaduna Polytechnic and Diploma in Biomedical Engineering Hospital Equipment and Instrumentation from A.B.U Teaching Hospital, Zaria. He was trained in UK, England on Biomedical Engineering and awarded a certificate. He has worked with the missionaries and has been a Catholic since 1952. He is a pioneer student of the Pope John Paul II School of Evangelization, Zaria Diocese which began in 2006.
C.B.U Gishiri hails from Kurumin Dawaki, Makwahu, Zangon Kataf in Kaduna State.
